Day 7 – 28/01/09
Everyone has been working on their own individual roles. Catherine and Cody have been working on most of the actionscript and getting the intro nice and optimised in terms of file size, Jarod has been hardcore scanning all his artwork that he sketched from some of the images provided by the client, and has also been cutting them up on photoshop to get them ready for Cody. Patrick’s already working on the html/css coding since Catherine has given him all the mocked-up assets.
Day 8 -29/01/09
Initially we had the intro loading in with bitmap images, but due to filesize issues we have all decided it would be in our best interest to use vectors instead. Jarod has given Catherine a lot of the illustrations and Cath has been continually loading them onto flash for Cody to work his magic on. Patrick’s been given a new set of the design mockups and has been working on the changes. The html images are also well optimised and validated constantly. We pretty much have the backbone for the html – just missing the flash files and general text information from the client.
Day 9 – 30/01/09
The zoom of the intro is looking real sweet now. Filesize has been bonked down from 2.3mb down to 1.5 – which is just rad. Jarod’s still been constantly coming out with all the illustration material which is great because we have more stuff to work with for constructing the villages. Patrick’s just been working on cutting up some of the bigger images of the site to use as repeating tiles to avoid big file sizes. The flash files are big enough, so everything has to be done in order to keep everything else to a minimum.
