Students from the August 2008 class of the diploma of Visual Effects and Motion Graphics have recently finished their 40-week long course with a series of real and industry-like projects: one of which was to produce some motion graphics work for a “fake” corporate client: MDS.
Students had to produce work for all the different stages of a design awards night: pre-drink, awards ceremony, and a dance night. Some of those motion graphics works were a 15sec Animation of the event organiser’s logo, a 30sec loop featuring the sponsors of the event, a few 10sec clips presenting the nominees, and also a 90sec loop of a design retrospective featuring the work from previous graphic design students.

This is a big project held at the end of the course and aiming at bringing together all the learnings, skills, and knowledge gained by the students whilst studying at MDS. They complete their time in the school with a two-week portfolio project during which they finalise their show reel before hitting the job market with their amazing talent.
