Team rewarded for Time To Fly

The seven students from the Graduate Diploma of Advanced 3D Productions, class of February 2008 have had a bit to celebrate over the last few weeks.
Their short films Time to Fly and Incipiens have been doing really well on the Animated Films Festival market. As well as Time to Fly being seen in the cinemas around New Zealand over the last couple of months, it’s been awarded third place in the Hamburg Animation Festival last month and will be presented along with Incipiens to more festivals around the world.
As for Incipiens, it was selected recently for the panorama screening in the Melbourne Internationl Animation Festival.
The results of the Graduate Diploma of Advanced 3D Productions are really encouraging and the added exposure, higher level of skills, and industry-like production experience really set the students graduating from the course that little bit closer to their big career dreams in the 3D and VFX industries.

Cameron Smith, one of the graduates from the last intake is now working at Weta Digital in Wellington and international student Chris Medley-Pole is in talks with Pixar to land a job in the famous San-Francisco-based Animation company.
So big ups to the team and we just cannot wait to see more great work coming out of the Graduate Diploma.

This award is a testament to all the hard work that was put into this project and the course in general, and a very special thanks to Emil for his expertise and guidance throughout the year.
More great things to come from this crew for sure.
