The MDS 3D April 09 intake were recently tasked with using Autodesk Maya software to bring to life a basic ‘Sci-Fi’ inspired model (by 3D Artist Juan Carlos Silva). The students had one week to bring to bear the skill-set they’d just learnt in the rendering component (six weeks) of the course.
Their goal was to inject life and vitality to the scene by adding convincing lighting and depth to the space, challenged to use whatever technique they felt best fit to create an original, well-lit 3D rendering of the scene supplied.
They could add or subtract or change the models, create textures, arrange the shot as they pleased, or whatever else they wanted to realize thier vision of the scene.
The project’s focus was on technical 3D techiques that included shading, rendering, texturing and lighting. Some really juicy images came out of this project and we’ve included our favourites, and it was pretty hard to pick these out we can tell you!

I love it!
very cool guys
